Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions:

Is BirdTrade still free?
We have limited our services to members only to ensure the quality of our website stays the very best in it's genre. Registration is completely free. If you are looking to gain full site access -become a full member along-side thousands of bird enthusiasts. Join the BirdTrade Club today!
Why is BirdTrade no longer completely free?
Despite our best efforts in banning and black-listing over 700 fraudulent visitors. Our free services were eventually taken advantage of by our fellow countrymen. UK Businesses decided they would abuse our systems by promoting their own products by sending spam messages to our members. Our previous setup only required registration to have the ability to contact an advert owner free of charge. As you can imagine these actions left our staff disheartened considering the amount of dedication and voluntary management to maintain a safer environment to buy and sell birds.

This service is dedicated to private bird owners ONLY!

We decided a few months ago that we would introduce some minimal-cost membership schemes, this would deter the "bad eggs". With financial backing BirdTrade staff can continue to serve it's members with safer tools to buy and sell their "feathered ones". Funds will also be used to frequently update our own systems. All members deserve their privacy and BirdTrade assures buyers of 100% authentic adverts, no hidden fees - we put you in direct contact with buyers and sellers from across the United Kingdom.

What's different on the "NEW" BirdTrade ?
  • First of all we have completely revamped the "look and feel" of our website which now boasts a clean and user-friendly interface for our members.
  • Members have full control over their details and adverts. Write, Edit, Delete - you name it!
  • Breeder profiles have been introduced whereby you have the option to outline your breeding history and the birds your specialise in. This information will be available to all registered Birdtrade members.
  • New easy to use advert posting process, clearly defined fields.
  • Upload up to 3 photos with your adverts.
  • Advanced search allowing visitors to search by city and county!
  • Every member will receive their own personal messaging inbox, which can be used to contact buyers and sellers directly through the BirdTrade website. Log on at work or at home to check your adverts. Notifications will be sent to your registered e-mail when you receive a new message. You can choose to share your actual contact details with members through our PM (personal message) system at your own discretion. This enables a high level of privacy for everyone.
  • Many more features to come.
